Spitfire Ia AR213 has been repainted in the markings of 71 (Eagle) Squadron, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the USAAF's Eighth Air Force arriving at RAF Duxford. P7308/XR-D was flown regularly by P/O William 'Bill' Dunn, one of the unit's aces.
Superbly restored by Personal Plane Services, AR213 returned to the air on November 11th, 2007 by Jonathon Whaley. 57 OTU operated the Spitfire from RAF Hawarden. AR213 is seen here at Flying Legends 2008, the world's premier warbird airshow.
